Ryan and Romi

Right about this time of year we are living in our Ryan Roche pieces, those loosely-weaved cable knit sweaters and shaggy cardigans that put the young designer on the map and earned her a CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund runner up placement in 2014.  Rendered in the most perfect of blush tones in the most sumptuous of cashmere, the signature sweaters go perfectly with black leather leggings, jeans or long knit skirts.  Aside from their epic wearability and chic Snuggy-esque factor, Roche’s designs are ethically sourced and produced by a female collective in Nepal so they not only feel divine, you can feel great wearing them.  Her Fall 2016 collection included more of her laid-back elegance in her much-loved palette with the additions of black and wine.  The maxi-length dresses and slouchy coats were particular stand outs, as was the makeup look devised by Beauty.com Creative Director Romy Soleimani.

Soleimani believes in marrying skincare with makeup often using moisturizers or balms as highlighters or mixing serums with foundations to create a touchable glow.  Here she used a variety of Dr. Hauschka products to cleanse and tone followed by one of our favorite all-purpose moisturizers  Rose Day Cream.  For added hydration she gently dabbed Daily Hydrating Eye Cream on the outer corner of the eyes.

She used several Laura Geller makeup products in creative ways, favoring plum tones to complement the collection’s pastel tones.  Love Me Dew Moisturizing Lip Crayon in Plum Freeze was smudged along the lower lash line and diffused with a fluffy brush. To add dimension, the charcoal shade in the Crème Glaze Deluxe Palette in Sunset Mauve (coming soon to Beauty.com) was mixed with the taupe shade in the Crème Glaze Deluxe Palette in Desert Dusk and diffused along the lower lash line.

Romy applied Define and Tame Brow Perfecting Gel in Blonde to the entire eyelid for a muted mushroom color.  She pressed the champagne shade in the Crème Glaze Deluxe Palette in Desert Dusk into the inner corners of the eye and the bridge of the nose as a subtle highlighter.  Dr. Hauschka Eye Balm was dabbed along the orbital crescent for added glow.  A slick of Dr. Hauschka’s Lip Balm on lips completed the look.  Minimalist romanticism at its best!
